It's Comfy Cozy PJ Time!

Christmas has come and gone, but the joy of after-Christmas sales is upon us. For me, this means trying my hardest to not buy any more clothes... how hard can it be? Very! So, instead of purchasing a top that looks almost identical to the one in your closet, invest in some comfy, cute sleepwear!

Rue21 has a large selection of sleepwear at reasonable prices. From robes to slippers, plush pants to footies, you can find something you like at Rue21.

This pair of plush pants cost $14.99. They have a variety of designs, but the monsters are, by far, my favorites.

For those who like to be extremely warm, you can try the footies! Rue21 has a few different designs for $19.99.

For working out or just hanging around the house, sweatpants are the way to go! Rue21 has a variety of different lengths, colors, designs and styles for $14.99.

Robes can serve many different purposes. For whatever purpose you use them for, Rue21 has them for $19.99.

Slippers are a great way to keep your feet warm and adorable! These bootie slippers cost $14.99.

Blankets are something most teen girls don't think of buying, but when it comes to this warm, plush blanket for $16.99, we can't pass it up!

Next time you're out shopping, make sure to look at the PJ's and remember, please do not wear them out in public. :)

Holiday Makeup Tips!

Oh how I love Christmastime! EEK!! *Squeals with joy* Christmas is only three days away!!
As I'm am typing this, I'm staring out the window at a field covered in fresh fallen snow. A multitude of snowflakes are dancing through the wind as cheery Christmas music plays from my favorite Pandora play list. *Happy sigh*. Haha, ok I'll get on with it...
With Christmas only three days away, you're bound to be attending a Holiday party, caroling with friends, or getting ready for a Christmas Eve service. Below, are some fun holiday makeup tips that will add sparkle to your outfit (literally LOL).

Gold Eyeshadow

Apply some shimmery gold and eye shadow to your eyelids, applying less as you get closer to your brow bone. Don't put too much on, you want to look as natural as possible and just add a little sparkle.
CoverGirl has some gold eye shadow, pictured below (that may not be the exact gold color).

Sparkly "Snow Covered" Eyelashes

After putting on gold eye shadow, apply your favorite mascara. Just one or two strokes. Next, while holding your eyelid up with a Qtip, apply a small amount of silver eye shadow on your eye lashes, which are still wet from the mascara. It will look like shimmery snow on your eye lashes!

If you choose to do the two looks described above, go easy on everything else. If you're focusing on eyes, you want to put only a small amount of makeup, or none at all, on your cheeks and lips.
Apply some soft pink blush to your cheeks, or if you're going caroling, your cheeks will turn naturally pink and you won't need any at all! Then put on some soft pink lip gloss and you're set to go!

Want a simpler look? Red lipstick. Just some bold, red, holiday lipstick. Nothing on your eyes or cheeks (maybe a light amount of mascara). And you're ready for a holiday party!
CoverGirl's red lipstick:

Here is a holiday makeup tutorial on YouTube I found very helpful!
I have viewed this video and think it's appropriate (maybe just tone it down on the makeup and make it look more natural!) although I have not viewed all the videos on Bubzbeauty's channel, so they might not all be appropriate. Please view other videos at your own risk.

Well, girls, I hope you found this post helpful! If you're wondering what to wear to a Christmas Eve service or holiday party, check out some of the past posts from other girls on here, you're sure to find some great ideas!

I'm off to go skiing!
I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!!

Bringing the Past to Present

I love the Christmas season and especially all the movies that are airing on TV.  Watching movies like "It's a Wonderful Life" and "Miracle on 34th Street" bring me back to eras where fashion was emerging into what it is now, yet still holding onto the modesty that was valued among many.

One of my favorite movies is "It's a Wonderful Life" and in particular I love the long coats with  big buttons that the females wear.  Get a red one this Christmas and stand out, wearing it with an air of style.  Mary, played usually by Donna Reed, particularly has excellent fashion in this movie, and others that she has been cast in.

Something else I like about the fashion in this movie is the appreciation of jewelry and decoration of their dresses.  Traditionally, the 1920s (the time era in which this movie was to have taken place), were much more colorful and bold than the previous eras.  Pick up some traditional jewelry and add some extra decor to your normal outfits.

My second favorite movie during the holiday season is "Miracle on 34th Street".  In the picture above, I particularly like how adorable and fashionable both characters can be while wearing very modest necklines.  Don't be afraid this holiday season to wear what may seem like "extremely modest clothing".  Wear them with confidence, and accessorize them with your own personal style.

Have a great holiday season,
Rachel

All I Want For Christmas Is...

Christmas is only 2 weeks away! This means it's close to those last minute Christmas shopping day! Some of you may be wondering "What am I going to buy my best friend for Christmas?" or "I don't know what to ask for for Christmas?" Well here are a few items that you might want to ask for or buy.

Goodies Spin Pins This simple, little pins are around $6. These are quick and easy little tools to make your bun stay all day! Just twist up your hair in a bun and twist in. The box says not to cross the pins if you are using two, but it is much easier and it has a better hold. Once you put in the pin, you can spritz some hairspray on your bun to make sure you don't have flyaways. These are best used with medium to long hair. If you have thick hair, you will want to use two pins at all times.

Tresemme Heat Protection Spray This is a great little gift for any girl who does something to her hair! From blow drying and straigthening to curling and crimping, this spray is a life saver! Spritz some of this through your hair before using any kind of heat on your hair. It cost $5 but makes it look like a million!

Jergen's Natural Glow Moisturizer This is what I call heaven in a bottle! This moisturizer has some self tanner in it, meaning you can keep your summer glow all year round for only $5! All you have to do is apply this moisturizer, wait until it dries and voila! You're a sun kissed beauty! You will want to wash the moisturizer off of your hands once you are done applying though. Remember, it is a self tanner too.

Gray Nail Polish. Gray nail polish is the new nail color for winter. Almost every brand of nail polish has a shade of gray that you will personally love. My personal favorite is Sally Hansen's Gunmetal! It costs about $3 and totally worth it!

Jaquard Hat with Pom Pom Are you the kind of girl that likes to have fun with her accessories? Maybe you have a friend that does. This hat would make a perfect gift! You can find this at Target for around $12!

So, whether you are shopping for a sister, friend, or for yourself, consider some of these items! Have fun and have a Merry Christmas!

It is time to Deck the Halls 'cause Christmas Time is Here!

It is finally Christmas time which means the Birth of our Savior, Christmas parties, Decorating, Shopping, Family Photos and maybe even some Christmas Caroling! All of these long awaited activities are finally here and it is time to dress to impress. We all want to look great in our family photos and when we go out to celebrate the holiday season so what should we wear? Or how should we do our hair? Here's a few ideas to help get you started:

What should you wear while Christmas shopping or Caroling:

You want to wear something that's comfy and easy to walk in. I suggest skinny jeans and some cute flats that won't have you tripping through the crazy holiday crowds or leave you blisters from standing in line (or at a doorstep) too long! Wear a white tanktop underneath the shirt for coverage and warmth. And make sure you don't forget a jacket, it gets pretty chilly on winter nights!

What to wear to a Christmas Party:

Don't be afraid to sparkle! Sequins are fashionable and dressy, you can dress up a sequin shirt and skinny jeans with a pair of matching high heels for that perfect holiday shine.

What to wear to the Christmas Eve Service at church:

These dresses are cute and modest for church not to mention they make the yuletide gay! They are perfect for the season. Velvet is the perfect winter fabric and red is the ultimate Christmas color! And you can add leggings underneath to keep you warm or to make the dress more modest if you happen to have long legs!

What to do to your hair in the Family Christmas Photo: (These hairstyles will help you look great even if you have to wear those matching sweaters :p And you can find out how to get these hairstyles by going to pantene.com)
Try wearing your hair up with some volume!
You can never go wrong with sleek and straight!
Short hair can be volumized by adding a few pincurls at the bottom!
This up-do is classy and pretty great for that traditional family photo!

I hope that these tips and suggestions have helped you start preparing to look your best for the holiday season! If you would like too see or purchase any of the clothes I suggested you can find them at forever21.com!
Merry Christmas bloggers!
